CTCMath Homeschool Math Review

Math is inevitably one of those subjects that people worry about teaching if they are going to homeschool their children. As parents we worry that we weren't solid in math, or that it has been so long since we tackled upper level math. The good news is there are solid homeschool math programs (like CTCMath) that can do the teaching for you!   CTCMath Review CTCMath is an online math … [Read more...] about CTCMath Homeschool Math Review

Introducing Boundary Stone: Self-Paced American Government Curriculum

I'm a child of Haitian immigrants and the first-born. Many times after school, I remember sharing my newfound knowledge of America with my parents. They came to earn degrees in Chemistry and Engineering and to offer their children new choices. Those goals were met! But everything from this country's language, its customs, culture, and yes its government, was a brand new experience. So it … [Read more...] about Introducing Boundary Stone: Self-Paced American Government Curriculum

Morning Time Is Better Together

Morning Time goes by many names: circle time, morning basket, even symposium. In our home this time is anchored by our history study.  We read aloud from our spine book, look at maps, and have rollicking discussions.  From this firm foundation, we move into individual skill work in language arts and math.  But our time learning together anchors and defines our homeschool. My oldest was only … [Read more...] about Morning Time Is Better Together

What I believe sets Handwriting Without Tears Cursive Success apart form all others is its ease of use. It truly does take the tears out of handwriting. It uses a vertical style approach and most children develop a vertical stroke first when learning to print.

Handwriting Without Tears Cursive Success

Handwriting is something I feel is still very important, even in this age of computers and spell correct. But that doesn't mean I think it should be difficult. We have so many other subjects that need to be covered in our homeschools. How much time and emphasis should be placed on learning cursive in this modern age? Rather than attempt to answer this much debated question I 'd like to offer a … [Read more...] about Handwriting Without Tears Cursive Success
