Using the Mona Melissa Human Body Set for Homeschool Science

Our elementary school is doing Apologia's Exploring Creation through Anatomy & Physiology this year. One of the activities during this class is the children put together a personal person project. They layer several of the human body's system on top of each other. It's a great project. I wanted to be able to help them complete it and provide an example for them. I'd like to share a very useful … [Read more...] about Using the Mona Melissa Human Body Set for Homeschool Science

Using Timelines for Homeschool History Studies

History is one of those subjects in which I have hopped around a bit in our teaching methods. We have used straight textbooks, time period specific unit studies, videos, and historical fiction. This year for middle school I started using a timeline as a basis for our homeschool history studies. What I Love About Timelines for Homeschool History Studies So now the question is, why use a … [Read more...] about Using Timelines for Homeschool History Studies

Bibles Abound: The Rhyme Bible and The Jesus Storybook Bible

We have a lot of Bibles at our house. We are learning how to be God's people, and as it turns out, at least where children are concerned, all Bibles are not the same. Each children’s Bible has its merits (I mean, it is the word of God), but some bring along an oddity or two as well. Some tell too much of the stuff I am not quite ready to talk about yet. Really, have you read Genesis? … [Read more...] about Bibles Abound: The Rhyme Bible and The Jesus Storybook Bible
