Character Development for Kids – Grace and Truth Books

Character Development for Kids

When my daughter was little, we spent time each morning reading simple character building stories together and talking about what they meant. This became such a precious time for both of us each year. One of my favorite memories was when we read a story about caring and feelings. I recall saying to my daughter something like…”So we care about other people’s feelings.” She was

Elementary Homeschool Curriculum – Oak Meadow 5

When looking for a elementary curriculum, we wanted something that would nurture this spirit of exploration with lots of hands on projects – yet would still cover all the bases. We found this and more in Oak Meadow's Fifth Grade Curriculum Package.

When my daughter was young, she was all about exploring, making things with tons of tape and cardboard, asking lots of questions, wondering “why’s” and always eager to learn new things. So when we were looking for a elementary curriculum, we wanted something that would nurture this spirit of exploration with lots of hands on projects – yet would still cover all the bases.  We

Cursive Handwriting Resources for Elementary

Are you wanting to teach cursive writing to your kids? In my opinion, handwriting is still so important even in this digital age. Middle School Spelling and Vocabulary – from A Beka

If you are looking for an academically challenging, quality middle school spelling and vocabulary program, my family recommends Vocabulary, Spelling, and Poetry I.

When my daughter reached middle school age, she was a pretty good speller. However, she needed to continue with her spelling lessons to develop her skills even further.  She also needed work on vocabulary. This review may include affiliate links to curriculum that we loved and used in our own homeschool.  Please see our disclosure policy. Prior to that, we had used Building Spelling Skills

Elementary Level Science – Animal Study – Growing Up Against The Odds

Your animal lover will enjoy this elementary level animals book with full page for each of the animals. Next to the pictures are stories about each animal.

Do you have a young animal lover in your house? My daughter was so interested in animals that most of her elementary science studies focused on that. First it was snakes and other invertebrates, then vertebrates. Next her interest was turtles, then penguins and pandas. Later it was herons and other bird life. She loved to photograph these! Then one year, we found this precious

Homeschool to College

There are many different ways to homeschool to college. Some teens aim to complete their high school years at home, then go directly into the world of work. Others go to community college and earn dual credit or work towards an Associates Degree. Other teens are homeschooling high school and planning to apply to a four year college. My 17-year-old daughter was one of them.
