Sonlight Discover & Do Science F

“NEW for 2024! Brand new philosophy, brand new books, brand new experiments, brand new worksheets!”

Sonlight Discover & Do Science F got an overhaul this year! I’m excited to be able to give you a look inside and tell you all about it!

Science F covers Life Science: from molecules to organisms. As well as the scientific process with STEM hands-on experiments. It is geared toward the middle grade ages 11-14 (6th-9th grade)

What’s Inside Discover & Do Science F

First let’s take a look at what’s included in the Sonlight Discover & Do Science F kit. The Sonlight Science Kits are designed to provide everything you need to complete a year of science in your homeschool, including lab supplies.

1. Instructor’s Guide

Sonlight Discover & Do Instructor's Guide
  • The Instructor’s Guide includes a full Weekly Schedule -you can choose between a 4 or 5 day schedule (be sure to be on the lookout my upcoming post that includes more on scheduling)
  • Teaching Helps
  • student Activity Sheets
  • separate parent full Answers and Definitions

These pages are hole punched and ready for you to toss in a binder! What I love about this binder approach is that it is easy to grab a few relevant sheets out of the binder while you are working with them. It keeps the binder neat and clean because you aren’t lugging it out all the time. And makes it easy to organize your pages when you aren’t using them.

2. Science Experiment Guide

In these 36 experiments—suitable for 6th grade through 9th grade—you will explore life science: from molecules to organisms! The experiments include key concepts, detailed step-by-step instructions, colorful illustrations and helpful tips to take you through each fun, easy, and doable experiment.

I love how open and go the science experiment guide makes it for parents! Everything you need, including answers where appropriate, most of the supplies, and clear easy to follow instructions are all included!

3. Science Supplies Kit

This lab supply kit has the items you need, in the quantities required to complete the 36 experiments in Discover & Do: Level F Science Experiments. It’s that easy. Open the box and grab the supplies!

With Discover & Do: Level F Science Experiments, your children will not just memorize the steps of the scientific process. They will conduct simple, engaging, hands-on experiments at home and use the scientific method to explore their world in an enjoyable and interactive way. Each experiment begins with an overview of the key concepts, so you have a big-picture view of the main goals of the lesson. As you work through the experiment together, you will discuss and discover how these concepts work in the real world.

And when I say everything, I mean everything! Other than a few basics like glue, scissors, etc., all books, printables, answer keys and supplies are included.

2. The Experiments Are Hands-On and Easy to Implement at Home

Sonlight Hands-on Science

I was always wary of doing more complex science experiments, worrying I would do them wrong, or they wouldn’t come out right. Sonlight makes doing hands-on science experiments with your kids fun and easy! The Science Experiment Guide walks you through each step and also give you the answers so you never have to wonder if you were correct or not!

3. The Books Included Are Rich in Content

Reading Books for Sonlight Science

Books, good books, have always been an important part of my homeschool. I fill shelf after shelf with not only good literature, but of non-fiction books for science and history. Sonlight Science makes this easy by using and providing quality books to enhance the science topics being taught.
