Learn & Grow Hands-On Preschool Curriculum ~ Wonderfully Amazing

As the mother of an extremely active preschooler I have had a very hard time finding a curriculum that he enjoys. I have tried a lot of printed pages that he is supposed to color or use dot markers and the such but none of them held his attention. Quite honestly, he started seriously disliking the word "schoolwork". Not good for a homeschooling family, right? Right! So, I went on a search. I … [Read more...] about Learn & Grow Hands-On Preschool Curriculum ~ Wonderfully Amazing

Titanic Museum Attraction

We love field trips! One place we had heard of, but hadn't yet gotten to go to, was the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the tragic voyage the Titanic made. It seemed like the perfect learning moment to take advantage of. We traveled down to the attraction and were greeted with boarding passes. The crew was very friendly and … [Read more...] about Titanic Museum Attraction

Accountable Kids Chore Chart Review

We have tried countless chore chart systems and did not end up sticking with any of them. While we were always looking for a system to make our home run more smoothly, trying to implement a new method proved to be more stressful than helpful. While at our state homeschool convention this year, we happened upon the Accountable Kids booth. I was hooked instantly, while my husband was hesitant … [Read more...] about Accountable Kids Chore Chart Review

Human Anatomy Models and Study Aids

This year was our first year of serious human anatomy study using an eclectic and project based approach. Human anatomy models made the pages of our text come alive for the visual spatial learners in our home. With the models we could touch, see, and imagine how each part fits together after taking the models apart and then putting them back together again. The models sat on the desk near the … [Read more...] about Human Anatomy Models and Study Aids

Just Write Review

Our crew is definitely considered an electric homeschool family. We have used various curricula throughout our homeschool journey. Impart Magazine Review – Ideas to Enrich Your Life and Home

Anytime we discover something extraordinary, we can't wait to share it with our friends. That's how I feel about a new digital publication, Impart Magazine. I've had the opportunity to read both the June and July issues, and I am very impressed. Publishers Michael and Carrie Bozeman have taken great care with this magazine, and it shows in every aspect. The tagline, “Inspire Your Child / Enrich … [Read more...] about Impart Magazine Review – Ideas to Enrich Your Life and Home

Phonics and Reading with McGuffey App Review

Born in 1800, William McGuffey was a philosopher, philanthropist, and public-school teacher.  In 1836, he wrote a series of reading textbooks that would be used primarily in public schools during the 1800s.  The McGuffey Readers have since undergone a series of revisions, but they are still extremely popular, particularly with homeschooling families.  They teach phonics simply and are filled with … [Read more...] about Phonics and Reading with McGuffey App Review

Seterra

As soon as Miss 12 finished the school year, she dove into a new project.  She now spends hours with a globe every day, playing Seterra, a geography fact game. Her self-imposed goal is to get 100% on every single Seterra challenge, from flags of the world to countries of the world to capital cities of Africa and provinces of China.  And she has come a long way. So have we all.  Occasionally … [Read more...] about Seterra

Junior Undiscovered Mathematical Prodigies We have 20 pages left of JUMP at Home Math 5 and I wanted to share our experience with you.  Both of our boys used Miquon for the first three years of math.
