About the Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum Kit

The Generous Students Homeschool Edition from Generous Family is a 26-week curriculum designed to teach children ages 5-18 about the importance of living generously. It is based on the 7 Ways of Living Generously:

  1. thoughts – the way you think about yourself and others
  2. words – the way you speak to others, and the way you talk about others and yourself
  3. time – the way you give the hours, minutes, and moments in your day
  4. money – the way you give of your financial resources to help others
  5. attention – the way you are fully present and fully focused on another person
  6. influence – the way you use your friendships, relationships, and connections to help others
  7. sharing your belongings – sharing things you have like toys, clothes, and other belongings with others

The curriculum features daily scripture connection, activities, games, historical connections with Generosity Heroes, and extra ways to provide an opportunity for families to learn and practice generosity together. The Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum Kit is meant to do together as a family. This helps foster a strong family bond.

Things to Love About the Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum

1. Instills a Sense Gratefulness Through Giving

Weekly Gratitude Journaling

Each week of the Generous Students Student Journal begins with a “Get Into Gear“ – Gratitude Journal where kids can reflect on what they are grateful for. This helps bring them into focus, and gets them thinking about the ways they have received love and kindness from others, as well as things that make them feel safe, happy, and content. This is a great way to begin growing their heart for generosity to others.

2. Something for the Whole Family to do Together

Reading Aloud from the Generosity Heroes Book

The Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum Kit is meant to do together as a family. This not only facilitates quality family time, but gives children and parents a chance to reflect on what is important to them, and to discuss their family values.

How does the saying go, “The family that plays together, stays together.” Using the Generous Family Homeschool Curriculum Kit makes it easy for families to come together not only to reflect, but to discuss, and to serve together.

PLUS it has given our grandson more opportunities to practice reading aloud! As you can see in the photo above he reads aloud to me from the Generosity Heroes book.

3. Faith Based Homeschool Curriculum

This curriculum is Bible-Focused, referring back to and directing your thoughts and actions through scripture. It’s a wonderful way to reinforce seeking out answers from the Lord through scripture. The Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum contains more than 125 Bible Verses and more than 40 Historical and Biblical Generosity Heroes.

4. Seamlessly Integrates the Student Journal, Instructor Guide, and Digital Content

I’m not sure this curriculum could be easier to use! The spiral bound Instructor’s Guide has everything you need to walk your family through this journey of living generously. One of the coolest things it the scan bar that links you to the Generous Family Portal where you have access to all the video related to the course in a clear and concise, organized fashion.

I love how they even coordinate the images between the Student Journal and Instructor’s Guide, making it easier to identify you are on the correct page! The header images for each chapter are different and thus easy to distinguish. And the symbols for each section, like Get Into Gear and Get Rolling, are the same so you can easily track with your eyes what section you are on. (See image below)

5. Values First

I think my favorite thing about the Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum Kit is how it enables you to bring your values to the forefront. We are living in a “ME” focused society where so many are self-fish and self-centered. This homeschool curriculum offers us a chance to slow down and reflect on the things that matter, and to share that with our children.
