Literary Adventures for Kids from Hide the Chocolate

If you don’t know me, let me tell you something super important about me. I AM A BOOK NUT! I LOVE to read! I have always read a ton with my kids. I have been in at least one book club at all times for years, including mother/daughter book clubs with my girls as well as adult ones for me. I also use tons of living books and literature in our homeschooling (much to my son’s chagrin). So anytime I can get my hands on things to enrich the book reading experience, I am in! That’s where Literary Adventures for Kids comes in!

Literary Adventures for Kids from Hide the Chocolate offers engaging literary units and book clubs for kids in grades K-12.

{Disclosure: I received free access to Literary Adventures for Kids and was compensated for my time in writing this review. All my opinions are my own, honest thoughts and I was not required to post a positive review. Your experience may vary.}

Literary Adventures for Kids

Literary Adventures for Kids offers online books clubs that are literature courses designed to guide your student through reading novels while adding optional grammar, spelling, and writing. Each one is a 4 week study of the chosen book.

Things I Love About Literary Adventures for Kids

Literary Adventures for Kids from Hide the Chocolate offers engaging literary units and book clubs for kids in grades K-12.

I mean, what’s NOT to love! But here are a few things that really stand out for me. Everything from the large selection of books to choose from down to the easy to use platform it is located in!

1. So Many Titles to Choose From

In both the Literary Adventures for Kids Clubhouse (elementary and middle school) and Literary Adventures for Kids Society (high school), there are so many titles to choose from, with more being added! There is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy and for everyone to stretch themselves into something new!

2. Flexible Purchasing Options

Buying bundles offers you a select group of books appropriate for the age level you are looking for. Have a voracious reader? Purchasing a Literary Adventures for Kids Membership allows you full access to TONS of titles and the monthly book club!

3. Monthly Interactive & Self-Paced Book Clubs

I really like that not only are there tons of self-paced options, but that every month there is a different book club where your child can participate in real time with other kids across the country. Having participated in so many book clubs myself, I know the value in being able to read alongside others, hearing their thoughts and sharing opinions together. It is such a fulfilling and enriching way to experience literature

4. Full Language Arts Course

Literary Adventures for Kids takes great literature and turns it into a FULL LANGUAGE ARTS COURSE! How awesome is that? This program makes it easy for book lovers like us to take reading and add so much more learning and enrichment based on the books our kids are reading!

I have found so often through my years of homeschooling that my kids not only enjoy in the moment, but retain things more, when they have meaning. Learning grammar concepts, or about historical events, or about animals, etc, all come to life within the pages of a story.

5. Easy to Use Platform

Example Lesson Plan from Literary Adventures for Kids

The online platform is what makes Literary Adventures for Kids so easy to use. Every Book Club has it’s own space.

When you click on the book club link it takes you to a landing page (see image above) where you will find a virtual checklist for the entire course. Included within are lists of supplies needed, embeded videos, lesson plans, etc. As your student works through each book club it keeps track of their progress so they can easily see where they left off and how much they have left to go!
