Big Brainz is giving away a deluxe version of Timez Attack multiplication and division, valued at $59.99, to one Curriculum Choice reader – don’t miss it at the end!
We’ve enjoyed Timez Attack by the Big Brainz company in our homeschool for several years now. These fun, multiplication games were recommended to us by my friends and fellow homeschool moms. It’s one of those resources we turn to when we know we need a little boost in multiplication practice. And, wow, how Timez Attack has improved since we first learned about it. See, we’d tucked it away because there was some space there between our older children and our middle girl. But now, she’s the one that needs that encouragement in times table memorization and division practice.
Enjoy this video for a quick start overview in a minute and a half:
“The most powerful multiplication games ever created.”
Three of my children practice with the Big Brainz game – three different ages/grades. And what better way to practice than with a fun computer game?
But guess what else? Timez Attack now offers addition and subtraction practice, so rising 1st grader got in on the mix as well. At the start, your child practices finding the numbers on the keyboard, chooses a boy or girl player and takes a pre-test to determine skill level. What impressed me most about this offering is that the game slows down when a child misses a certain problems. I watched as Timez Addition drilled my daughter in 2 + 1 = 3 then 3 – 2 = 1.
Plus, Big Brainz just recently added division! Hmm. I sure can appreciate a program that my age range of children can use! Here’s what my rising 8th grader had to say about the newly improved version, “They made it harder to play (you have to give your answer in less time) but easier to remember the multiplication facts.”
Some things I bet you didn’t know:
- available for both Windows and Mac platforms
- built in pre-test and post-test
- a retention component to regularly review the facts
How to find out even more:
- Big Brainz product page
- Home Use downloads page
- Research page showing test score improvement
- You can find Big Brainz on Facebook
- There is a free version! You and your child can try it out and use the free version which is what we did to start with
- The paid version gives your child access to more ‘worlds’ and entertainment.
- Standard version: $39.99
- Deluxe version: $59.99
- 100% money back guarantee
- Comparison of the different versions and cost, plus what is included HERE.
Why would I want to pay for Timez Attack?
- As your child is successful in learning the times tables, he/she will advance. The free version only has one world (the dungeon world). However, your child can practice all the times tables with the free version.
- Paid version has more worlds. Some examples are rock tower, ruins with a jungle, volcano, and the machine world.
- Basically, by paying for Timez Attack, you give your child more opportunity to practice and challenge what they have learned.
In summary: Timez Attack meets the needs of several different ages – in our house from age six to 14! It is nice to have a math drill resource that is fun as well as challenging. We use Timez Attack throughout the school year to boost confidence or help a struggling child get back up to speed. But we’ve also found that summer time is a perfect time to use Timez Attack for some fun review.

This looks really awesome! I’ve been frustrated with my son and his times tables. They just don’t seem to be sticking in his memory. I already use online games, but most of them aren’t very exciting. This looks great!
Cris says
Learning math facts in a fun way is a great way to do it!
Amber says
My children are begging to do more computer work. I have been trying to find a way to incorporate fun and exciting ways to master multiplication and division!! This is a WIN WIN!!!
Kelly says
My son is having a hard time with times tables. He loves anything on the computer. He has done the free version in the past, perhaps it’s time to upgrade. It is a great product!
Trisha says
My kids just started using it because my 3rd grader was struggling with her multiplication tables. Even my 1st grader likes it. It’s a bit of a challenge for him but he’s pretty good at math so he still plays. We’re planning on working through the summer with it so that maybe math won’t be such a struggle for my daughter next year. The kids wanted the upgrade but it’s not in our budget to do that, so we’re hoping we win. 🙂
Beth says
I have a child who desparately needs to nail down the facts and this is right up her alley. Thanks for the chance to win!
Cara says
Hi. Is the 25% discount still current please? I tried putting it in put it didn’t seem to take any money off. Cheers.
Tricia says
Hi Cara – I will check with Big Brainz and get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
Cara says
Cool – appreciated! I keep finding really cool maths programmes – there is only so much budget!
Tricia says
Hi Cara – I exchanged emails with the Big Brainz folks and here is what they say: “make sure you are typing in ireadcc (no spaces, all lowercase) and then are pressing the Apply button.” If this doesn’t work please let me know.
Cara says
Thanks for following up on that. I put in the code and it says it accepts it but then doesn’t change the amount ($59.00). The 25% off is just for the deluxe option? Cheers.

Just discovered Timez Attack yesterday may 22 during my search for a maths game for my kids and from the youtube video i watch looks like it’s going to be helpful. i’m downloading the free version now. i would have love to buy the full version but unfortunately am in africa, don’t have credit card to buy. want to also find out if i can use paypal?
My daughter is struggling with maths, hope time attack is going to be of great help to her.
Tricia says
Hello Marceline! Here is what the Big Brainz representative said in response to your question: “You will definitely be able to use Paypal. In the check out section there is a drop down box that lets the customer chose whether they would like to pay using Echeck, Credit Card, or Pay Pal!”
John says
The 25% coupon ireadcc is not working. Has it expired?
Tricia says
Hi John – I heard from Big Brainz. They say: “We expired the code about 2 weeks after the review was published! There are other coupons available. If you blog about the game, share the Big Brainz link on facebook, or share the game with four friends they can enter
iblog
ifacebook
itold4
for a discount off of our deluxe version of TImez Attack!”
John says
Hello Tricia – Thank you so much for getting back to me. I knew about the itold4 code (that one is a $10.00 discount). The other two codes you provided (iblog & ifacebook) are both a $15.00 discount, which equals the 25% off from the expired ireadcc code. Again, Thank you, Tricia.
PS: I did buy the Deluxe version for my kids. They are going to love it! 🙂
Tricia says
Great! Have fun with Timez Attack!
