Help! I’m Homeschooling! Helpful Habits for the Heart of Homeschooling

Whether you have been homeschooling for 20 years, or 20 minutes, we can always use new ideas and encouraging words. That’s exactly what Help! I’m Homeschooling! has to offer us homeschooling moms.

Help! I'm Homeschooling: Helpful Habits for the Heart of Homeschooling - A Review from Heidi Ciravola @ The Curriculum Choice

I’ve heard it said that, “Homeschooling is not a sprint, it’s a marathon”, and after over 12 years of homeschooling I can honestly confirm this to be truth. Your homeschool will ebb and flow. You will have periods of time where everything falls into place and you feel like the poster child for homeschooling. Then the lows come when life gets in the way or one or more children are struggling, and you have to find a way to keep going.

No matter the season of homeschooling you find yourself in you will find wisdom and encouragement within the pages of Help! I’m Homeschooling! by Tricia Hodges.

Help! I’m Homeschooling!

While Help! I’m Homeschooling! is physically thin in size, don’t let this fool you into thinking it is thin on content! Inside Tricia gently walks you through how their family has turned their habits into the bones of their day. You’d be surprised how taking just one or two habits and working on them can transform pieces of your daily life.

What’s Inside Help! I’m Homeschooling!

Help! I'm Homeschooling! is a small book with a big message...You can homeschool! Up or down, good or bad, take deep breath and let Tricia's practical habits help your homeschool and household run more smoothly.

One of my favorite things that Tricia says (more than once I might add) is to “act like homeschoolers.” With this simple mantra she encourages us to make learning natural and flexible, to change up when needed, get outside, think outside the box, and above all take advantage of the freedoms that homeschooling affords us! There is even a whole list called,  “Enjoying the Great Freedoms of Homeschooling!”

The Habits

  • Planning & Goal Setting
  • Date Night
  • Teaching Multiple Ages
  • Fitting in All the Extras
  • Time Management
  • Afternoon Quiet Time
  • Singing
  • Stepping Outside
  • And More!

The Extras

  • 10 Parts of the Hodgepodge Homeschool Schedule
  • Unit Studies with Multiple Ages
  • The Imperfect Homeschool: Drama and Trauma All the Time
  • Homeschooling High School Habits
  • The Imperfect Homeschooler’s Guide to College
