Colorful, Easy-To-Take-With-You Planner

Like many homeschool moms, I am always on the lookout for “the perfect planner” – which honestly, I’ve decided is only a figment of our imagination. Because our imagination is where all our dreams are… which cannot be put down on paper (either digital or print). So, with that said, I would like to share a small, simple planner that is perfect for those looking for something that will not be big, bulky and expensive. The Homeschool Portfolio Pack is good for those who are required to submit yearly records but is also good for the rest of us because of its simple style. Honestly, I think it would make a wonderful keepsake!

First let me start with the maker of this planner. Her name is Kim and she can be found over at Not Consumed. If you read her “About” page you will find that she is a SINGLE MOTHER of four and is still homeschooling. I was a single mother of one for eight and a half years – I hadn’t even heard of nor considered homeschooling at that time in my life but WOW! do I have a lot of respect for these women (because there are many of them!) that are single AND homeschooling! Anyway, she is a Christian as well and her desire is to help other families through their different trials by providing a variety of helps (planners, books, free printables, speaking, Bible studies).

Second let me share about this planner with you. There are two options: digital and print. I chose the printed option as I only have one student this year and I prefer printed planners. The printed planner is VERY colorful (which I LOVE!) and is well made. It has a soft cover that works nicely with all the bending it will be getting throughout the year.

Here is a picture of the front of the planner … I told you it was colorful! {Gorgeous isn’t it!?!?!?!}

The {Printed} Homeschool Portfolio Pack consists of 88 beautifully printed, colorful pages:

  • About Me (student shares favorites, favorite Bible verse and 7 things about me)
  • Goals (personal, spiritual, health and homeschool)
  • Educational Snapshot
  • School year full year calendar by month (all on one page)
  • Monthly Calendar Pages (12 of them with no month or days listed so you can use it however you school)
  • Attendance Record
  • Reading Records (6 pages)
  • Assessment Graph by Subject (11 pages; I don’t think I’ve ever seen this in any of the planners I’ve seen and I really like this option!)
  • Weekly Checklist (38 pages and covers days, subjects, habits and evaluation)
  • Field Trip Evaluation Form (10 pages covering date, place, learned, rating several questions 1 – 5 stars and drawing something that was learned)
  • Progress Reports (4 pages covering academic progress, attendance and character development)

Here are some samples of the pages – again – beautiful, happy colors that I love! (I was going to take pictures of the one we have but I wasn’t sure how I could show you how amazing and colorful they are without sharing a ton of pictures – so I decided to grab the pictures off her website so you can see for yourself without having to scroll through a ton of pictures.)

Now for those who prefer a digital file – there are MANY reasons to go that route. Digital offers:

  • Unlimited printing of whatever pages you want.
  • Can be used for multiple students.
  • The ability to edit the pages as needed / wanted.
  • FREE yearly updates.

As a last note, I really appreciate how this planner includes Christian principles like character development and habit training. Nice to have that included and in one place where the student sees it regularly as well.

This planner is colorful, well-made, compact and includes everything needed for one year of schooling. If you are looking for a planner that isn’t going to weigh a ton to carry around but includes everything needed in one place for a full year, I highly suggest you check out the Homeschool Planner Portfolio from Not Consumed.

Here’s praying you have fun learning!
