My son is a our rising junior. He is our resident math and science wiz. He is looking at both advanced chemistry and advanced biology over the next two years. My daughter is a rising senior. She is our resident history, language and fine arts wiz. She is scheduled to take the ACT in the fall. So the end of her junior year, the summer and early part of her senior year are a good time for ACT test prep!
The ACT Strategy Smart suggests four weekly study sessions. Each week covers English, Math, Science, and Reading portions of the exam. An optional fifth week shares strategies for taking the ACT Writing Test.

We have done several CLEP/DSST tests, and really love the REA books. Hoping to have one do Biology and one ACT next year, so this would be a great win!

CLEP exams are not common in Canada, and even AP subject tests are difficult to access, but they seem to be a great option for the US.

CLEP tests have always been in our long term plan. I had not checked into these books before but I love how comprehensive they seem to be. Sociology and Psychology are on our list right now. Maybe Biology after that.
