Art C by ABeka – My Review

Are you looking for a complete art program for your children? In our homeschool, art was always a big part of our days. We often did our own projects, using ideas from our curriculum (Oak Meadow) or finding things to do on the web. But as my daughter grew, she wanted a more structured art program, and we found this helpful resource for our art and crafts projects – Art C by ABeka Books.

Are you looking for a complete art program for your children? In our homeschool, art was always a big part of our days. We found this helpful resource for our art and crafts projects - the series on art by A Beka Books.

A Beka Books offers easy to teach art instruction from K to 12. We discovered this series when my daughter was in 6th grade and loved using their art book, Art C that year.  I loved how all the projects in A Beka Books’s Art C were clearly explained and many had everything that was needed right in the book!

Art C by ABeka

Art C offers more than 40 projects to choose from, covering basic art concepts and art appreciation studies, including:

  1.  Artist studies
  2.  Technique practice
  3.  Drawing
  4.  Calligraphy
  5.  Painting
  6.  Seasonal gifts and projects
  7.  Art vocabulary terms to learn

Art C lays out art lessons for each month, including fun seasonal projects, such as this Fragrant Gift Box Project.

My daughter enjoyed picking out her favorite projects to work on from the 5 or 6 projects listed for that month, including such projects as:

  1.   Hues and Values
  2.   Watercolor Landscape
  3.   Inspecting Perspective’
  4.   Impressions of Color
  5.   Two Point Perspective
  6.  Quilled Paper Plaque, and 40 more….

Here is the quilled project, mentioned above….

The materials needed are listed with each project.  Each student should have a supply of glue, scissors, crayons, colored pencils, and watercolors.  Art concepts and art techniques are introduced or reviewed at the beginning of each lesson.

We loved the seasonal art projects, which helped to pepper our homeschool with fun ways to celebrate each season!  If you are looking for an easy to teach art program for your kids, my family recommends  Art C from ABeka.  For more information, or to order this frugal art program, go to ABeka Books – Art C, where they have a list of all the projects in this book.
