We love R&S English and use it the exact same way. My children use it 2 years behind and they do most work independently. We skip Class Exercises and sometimes oral work but complete Written exercises, Review and accompanying worksheets.

Thank you SO much for this review! My oldest daughter has been using Rod and Staff English (level 4) and I have been very pleased with it. I was encouraged by your review though as far as that you use it going 2 years below your children's current grade! It has seemed so advanced to me! After reading this I think I may do what you have done with my younger two daughters and possibly go through Level 4 again another year with my oldest! Love the curriculum - just didn't realize how advanced it was. Thanks!

We absolutely love R&S English. Have used them from 2nd all the way up through 8 now. Just yesterday I was smiling about how R&S uses the Bible to teach. In this assignment there were several references to Biblical cities that might be tough for an almost eight-year-old to pronounce. But we worked through it. We also laugh at the funny, 'incorrect' examples. "Them there ducks in that there pond." etc

Such a wonderful, thorough program. I wouldn't go with any other!

Thank you for this review! I am looking for something for my son to use to shore up his grammar skills. He never learned his grammar well in the first place, but I was at a loss with how to approach correcting that. So, this is an answer to prayer. We will TTY this, and go slow and steady. I love your way of letting the kids choose which exercises and Then earn a certain percentile to move forward...just a great review. We will be getting these books!
